JONESBORO, Ark. — The Houston Christian men's golf team will close out its regular season this week, traveling to Jonesboro, Arkansas, to compete in the Arkansas State Intercollegiate at RidgePointe Country Club on Monday, April 13 and Tuesday, April 14.
The huskies will be one of 11 teams in the field, joining host Arkansas State along with Bradley, Lindenwood, Missouri State, New Orleans, Nicholls, Omaha, Oral Roberts, Southeastern Louisiana and Utah Valley. A total of 69 players will compete across the 54-hole event.
The tournament will serve as the final tune-up for Houston Christian before the Southland Conference Championship, set for April 20-22 in Kerrville, Texas. The huskies will look to use this week's competition as an opportunity to build momentum and sharpen their game ahead of the postseason.
Houston Christian will send a five-man lineup to the tee, led by seniors
Brendon Willey (Richardson, Texas),
Mason Napier (Paris, Texas) and
Roy Barrera (Boerne, Texas). Juniors
Brooks Pawlak (Kingwood, Texas) and
Cooper Camp (Celina, Texas) will also compete, along with freshman
Tyler Joines (Baytown, Texas).
The tournament opens Monday with the first and second rounds played continuously, with tee times beginning at 7:45 a.m. The field will return Tuesday morning for the final round, also beginning at 7:45 a.m. with split tee times.
