HOUSTON – HCU head women's basketball coach Drew Long announced Dasia Hyams as the program's second signee for the 2025-26 season on Wednesday afternoon.
"We're thrilled to add Dasia to our signing class," said Long. "She's a very versatile player who can do a number of things very well. Dasia is a gifted scorer and is a great fit for how we want to play."
Hyams was a four-year starter at Tomball Memorial High School where she played for coach Tarence Davis. A 5-10 guard, Hyams amassed more than 1,000 career points in high school and averaged 17 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.1 steals and two assists per game as a senior en route to District 15-6A Offensive MVP honors and an invitation to participate in the Greater Houston Area Girls Basketball Association All-Star game. During her senior season she helped lead the Wildcats to a 24-8 record.
As a junior, Hyams averaged 13 ppg and 8.3 rpg while earning first team all-district honors. Hyams was also a four-year academic all-district performer for the Wildcats.
Hyams joins Kamryn McLaurin, who signed with the Huskies in November, as part of HCU's signing class for the 2025-26 school year.
