BSB: Huskies Return to SLC Action Against New Orleans

Privateers host conference co-leaders in Lakefront showdown

NEW ORLEANS, La. – HCU baseball resumes Southland Conference play this weekend with a pivotal three-game road series against New Orleans. First pitch is set for Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Maestri Field, with games continuing Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2:00 p.m. All three matchups will stream live on ESPN+.

The Huskies (22-13, 14-4 SLC) enter the weekend in a three-way tie atop the Southland standings. Despite falling to Texas State in a midweek matchup, HCU has not dropped a conference series this season and continues to sit among the league's top contenders.

Offensively, HCU is hitting .284 as a team. Senior utility standout Parker Edwards has led the charge, both at the plate and on the mound. He enters the weekend batting .320 with a team-high seven home runs and has thrown 42.1 innings as a key piece of the weekend rotation.

The Privateers (20-15, 7-11 SLC) are coming off a big win Tuesday night, reclaiming the Pelican Cup with a 10-5 victory over Tulane. Jake D'Altrui hit a three-run homer in a six-run first inning, and UNO took advantage of 11 free passes issued by the Green Wave pitching staff.

Last season, HCU won the three-game series over New Orleans, 2–1, at Husky Field. The Huskies dropped the opener, 15-4, but bounced back with a 7-1 win in game two behind dominant pitching from Edwards and Nicholas Willard. HCU clinched the series with an 11-4 win in game three, powered by 11 hits and three home runs.
