FRISCO, Texas – HCU senior pitcher
Parker Edwards was selected a second team preseason all-conference selection, decided by voting by the Southland Conference's head coaches, in an announcement by the league office on Thursday morning.
Edwards, who began pitching for the Huskies just last season after spending his first two years on campus as a catcher/designated hitter, made 13 appearances with 10 starts in 2024. He finished with a 5-5 overall record on the mound and a 4-3 record in SLC play. In conference, Edwards had a stretch of three-straight starts that included 17 innings pitched with just one earned run allowed on just nine hits. His final start of the 2024 campaign saw him take a perfect game into the eighth inning in a 4-2 win over UIW.
Edwards and the Huskies kick off the 2025 season at home with a four-game series against Central Michigan that will include the first-ever night game at Husky Field on Friday, Feb. 14, at 6:30 p.m.
