-– HCU's cross country harriers ran at the Dallas Baptist Old Glory Gallop on Saturday morning, the team's final race ahead of the 2025 Southland Conference Championships with the men placing ninth and women finishing 11
th.
Destiny Quintanilla paced the Huskies in the women's 5K, placing 13
th overall with a time of 18:00.9.
Reyes Carrera was the next finisher for the Huskies, posting a time of 18:32.43 to come in 36
th. Next for HCU was
Jazlynn Garza, crossing in 19:12.26 to finish 75
th with
Cara Gary posting a time of 19:49.18. The Huskies placed 11
th out of 40 teams in the race.
In the men's 8K, the Huskies finished ninth out of 40 teams.
Raphael Aureau finished just three seconds off his PR with a time of 24:55.1 for a 37
th-place showing. Four spots back,
Leandre Lahalle crossed in 41
st with a PR time of 25:01.89.
Alejandro Rosales finished 86
th overall with a time of 25:47.32 with
Colby Kurtz finishing four spots behind Rosales in 25:50.74 while Jaxon Artisst came in at 25:51.69.
The Southland Conference Championships await the Huskies on Halloween, Oct. 31, in Natchitoches, La. hosted by Northwestern State.
