HOUSTON – HCU women's soccer opens the home portion of its 2024 Southland Conference schedule this weekend with matchups at Sorrels Field against the Nicholls Colonels on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
HCU (2-5-3, 0-0-1 SLC) enjoyed an unbeaten week last weekend with a 3-1 road win over Prairie View A&M before opening conference play with a 0-0 draw at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Freshman goalkeeper
Emmy McKeon totaled 10 saves without allowing a goal in 176 minutes on the pitch to earn the first SLC Goalkeeper of the Week selection of her career. McKeon is third in the SLC with 5.25 saves per game while sporting a .792 save percentage.

Karianne Desjardins are tied for the team-lead with two goals scored with Huerta leading the team with six points thanks to her two assists.
Nicholls (2-4-1, 0-1 SLC) dropped its conference-opener on the road at Northwestern State, 2-0, last Sunday. Senior forward Koryn Barrett leads the Colonels with three goals, including two in the team's 5-0 win over Mississipp Valley State. Senior goalkeeper Megan Cook owns a .714 save percentage with 25 saves and 10 goals allowed.
SFA (4-1-2, 1-0-0 SLC) has won four-straight games, including a 3-0 home win over Lamar to open SLC play last Sunday. The Ladyjacks are out-scoring opponents 27-4 for the season with 19 of those goals coming in wins over Texas A&M-San Antonio and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Reaganne Crane, a senior, leads the way with 15 points on six goals and three assists. Lydia Sattler owns a 0.67 goals against average with an .846 save percentage.
The Huskies are 12-1 all-time against Nicholls, winning 12 in a row. HCU hasn't allowed a goal against the Colonels in six-straight matches, dating back to 2019. Against the Ladyjacks, HCU is 4-10 all-time with SFA winning the last three.
Following this weekend's matches, HCU hits the road for three, beginning Thursday, Oct. 3, against UT Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, Texas at 6:30 p.m.
