LUBBOCK, Texas – The HCU women's golf team wrapped up their second tournament of the fall season, placing 13th overall at the Texas Tech Red Raider Invitational. The Huskies posted rounds of +21, +19, and +24, finishing with a team total of +64. Texas Tech defended their title with an impressive -8 overall.
Freshman Natcha Makmanee led the Huskies, finishing T36 with a total of +9. She posted rounds of +2, +6, and finished strong today with a +1, climbing 12 spots on the leaderboard. Her final round included three birdies on holes 2, 4, and 7, along with a consistent back nine, where she recorded eight consecutive pars.
Freshman Alyssa Stewart finished T68 with a total of +17, posting steady rounds of +5, +6, and +6. Her final round included birdies on holes 2 and 11.
Sophomore Abigail Inocian started with solid rounds of +4 on the first two days, but struggled in the final round, carding a +10 to finish T71 at +18 overall. Despite the tough finish, she managed two birdies on holes 1 and 9.
Junior Hailey Hendershott placed 77th with a total of +23, including rounds of +10, +3, and +10. She had a strong start on her front nine in the final round, going -1 with birdies on holes 2 and 9, but encountered difficulties on the back nine.
Junior Alejandra Ferrer finished T78 at +24 with rounds of +11, +6, and +7. Her highlight was a birdie on hole 9 during her final round.
The Huskies will next compete at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational in Tacoma, Washington, from September 30 to October 1.
