SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Huskies take on Texas State in a midweek matchup on Wednesday at Bobcat Stadium at 6 p.m. HCU has clashed with the Bobcats eight times in program history with their lone win coming in 2020 with a 7-5 victory.

The Huskies (7-9) are led by William Jewell batting .381 average on the season with eight RBIs, seven walks, six runs and a pair of doubles and home runs. The senior is currently on a five-game hitting streak and has tallied hits in 11 of the 14 games on the season. Samuel Benjamin leads HCU with 19 hits and 17 runs on the year while hitting .339 average with eight RBIs, six walks, five doubles and three home runs. Trevor Roper is coming off back-to-back multi-hit games going 4-for-7 (.571%) over the final two games against Southern Illinois. Roper is hitting .371 on the season with seven runs, six RBIs and five doubles.

Texas State (7-8) is coming off a three-game series against Sam Houston State getting swept by the Bearkats. The Bobcats lost to fellow Southland Conference foe, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, in last week's midweek game. Texas State is led by Ryne Farber batting .393 average with 17 runs, 13 RBIs, 11 walks, four doubles, a triple and a home run. Alec Patino has started every game for the Bobcats hitting .352 average with 13 runs, 10 walks, nine RBIs, three doubles and a homer.
