AUSTIN, Texas – The Huskies battled the #14 ranked Longhorns at UFCU Disch-Falk Field for midweek matchup resulting in a 20-3 final score.

Dylan LaRue. After allowing a pair of three run innings in the second and third innings, HCU got within four runs in the top of the fifth inning when
Dylan LaRue scored his second run of the game on an error by Texas's first baseman Jack O'Dowd. The Longhorns (4-1) collected 12 runs in the ensuing three innings before the Huskies added a run in the top of the eighth inning off a
Damian Ruiz homer to left field. Texas scored the final two runs of the game in the bottom of the eighth inning to knock off the Huskies, 20-3.
The Huskies were led by
Dylan LaRue going 2-for-3 with two runs, two walks and a double.
Damian Ruiz went 1-for-2 with a home run and a walk while
Luke Bard went 1-for-2 with two walks.
Ty Dagley (0-1) was patched with the loss pitching two innings to start the game allowing five earned runs on seven hits with a walk and a strikeout.
Zach Ryan pitched 1.1 innings of relief allowing two runs, no earned runs, on three hits with two strikeouts.
The Longhorns were led by Rylan Galvan going 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBIs, a double and a home run. Will Gasparino went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs, and a run while Peyton Powell went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, a home run and a double.
The Huskies will return to action for the 2024 Sugar Land Classic at Constellation Field on Friday (2/23) through Sunday (2/25).
