Arlette Concepcion raced to a 6k PR time to lead HCU cross country on Friday morning at the Watts Cross Country Course.
The HCU women finished 23
rd overall out of 41 teams entered with Concepcion placing 26
th individually in the 6k race. The senior shaved nearly a minute off her previous PR, finishing the race in 20:00.6. Junior
Destiny Quintanilla came in with a PR mark of 21:04.9 while
Eline Mast came in a few spots behind with a time of 21:06.8.
Katherine Rogers crossed the finish line in 22:00.2 while
Jazlynn Garza posted a time of 22:41.7.
The men were led by junior
Raphael Aureau who paced the team with a time of 24:52.5 in the 8k race while
Colby Kurtz, a sophomore, crossed in 24:52.9. Senior
Alex Piquart posted a PR time of 25:04.8 and was followed a few spots back by
Krzysztof Turski who finished in 25:12.8.
Jaxson Artisst was next for the Huskies with a time of 25:39.7.
The Huskies will run again on Friday, Nov. 1, at the Southland Conference Championships in New Orleans, La.
