FRISCO, Texas – On Tuesday afternoon, HCU junior
Arlette Concepcion was announced as a repeat winner of the Southland Conference Runner of the Week award following her performance at the UIW Invitational/Southland Conference Preview this past Saturday.
Running her first 6K of the fall, Concepcion trimmed more than a minute off her previous PR at the distance. The junior won the race by more than 19 seconds, crossing the finish line in 21:00.1. The race was held at Windcrest Golf Course, the site of the 2023 Southland Conference Championships in late October.
Concepcion was also named SLC Runner of the Week last week after placing second among collegiate runners at the Rice Invitational.
The Huskies' cross country teams don't race again until Oct. 13 when they travel to Bryan-College Station, Texas for the Texas A&M Arturo Barrios Invitational.
