Greene is transferring to HCU after a stellar season for Panola College where he earned second-team All-Region XIV honors.

The 6'2 guard averaged 11.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 35% from the three-point line. Greene helped lead Panola to one of the best seasons in school history, as the Ponies went 28-5 overall and advanced to the region championship game, finishing #10 in the final 2023 NJCAA Division I rankings.

Prior to Panola, Greene spent his freshman campaign at Sacramento State. He averaged two points and one rebound while playing 19 games for the Hornets.

In high school, Greene led Archibishop Mitty to two consecutive West Catholic Athletic League titles. He was a First-team All-WCAL selection as a senior, averaging 11.6 points, 4.6 boards and 1.8 assists per game for the Monarchs.

Greene on HCU:

"Choosing HCU was an easy decision after meeting the coaching staff and the administrators. As a student-athlete, academics and athletics hold great importance to me and HCU provides a thriving culture in each realm."

Cottrell on Greene:

"It is our pleasure to welcome Marcus to HCU and our basketball program.

Marcus comes to us with much needed experience at the point guard position.  His athleticism, length, leadership, aggressiveness and basketball IQ make Marcus a perfect fit for what we needed in this spot.

On top of his on the court abilities and attributes, Marcus is a terrific young man who will be great representative of our university.

We couldn't be more excited that Marcus has chosen to become a Husky."

NOTE:

Greene is the second HCU signing of the week and third in the last nine days.

He joins Porter Bazil (April 17); Dominic Capriotti (May 10) and Jay Alvarez (May 16) in the 2023-24 signing class.
