HOUSTON - The HCU athletic department is proud to recognize and honor all of the university's student-athletes, and all student-athletes around the country, on National Student-Athlete Day.
Celebrated annually on Apr. 6, National Student-Athlete Day (NSAD) is a day to commend the accomplishments of student-athletes in being able to balance between academics and sports. The HCU community boasts more than 350 student-athletes competing across 15 sports.
National Student-Athlete Day can be traced back to 1937 when the National Consortium for Academics and Sports founded the NSAD to honor high school and college athletes that gave their blood and sweat to represent their schools, and did well in their academic pursuits in addition to athletics.
