LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana – The HCU women's basketball team is back on the road for a Southland matchup against the McNeese Cowgirls in the Legacy Center at 1pm Saturday afternoon.

HCU (7-8, 2-2 SLC) lost at home to first place Texas A&M-Commerce in the schools first meeting since the Lions joined the Southland. Commerce had a tough start to the year but have gone scotch free so far in Southland play.

N'Denasija Collins continued her dominant stretch of games, scoring a game high 19 points. Jo Oly was lights out off the bench, finishing with 13 points on five-of-six shooting from the field. Abbey Sutherland led HCU with nine rebounds. Kennedy Wilson finished with 13 points, her second highest total of the year. Her highest of the year came against Yale when she had 20, 17 of which came in the second half.

Collins is leading the Huskies offensively, averaging a career high 13.1 points per game while leading the team in rebounding, pulling in seven per game. She is shooting over 51 percent from the field and is knocking down three pointers at a 48 percent clip. Julija Vujakovic is second in scoring with 11.3 ppg. Enya Maguire leads the Huskies attack off the bench averaging just under seven points and is knocking down 47 percent of her three balls.

McNeese (4-11, 1-3 SLC) started off Southland play with a win against Northwestern State before dropping a game to Commerce and losing a second matchup against NSU. Paris Mullins is the only Cowgirl averaging double figures at 10.2ppg.

HCU has won all four games against the Cowgirls over the last two seasons. In their most recent meeting in Sharp Gym, Collins and Vujakovic combined for 30 points in the Huskies win. McNeese is 11-9 overall against the Huskies dating back to 2008.

HCU returns home to Sharp Gym next week to host UIW on Thursday night before hosting the Texas A&M-Corpus Saturday afternoon.
