FRISCO, Texas – HBU senior righthander Jared Burch was selected to the first team, while senior righthander Andrew Reitmeyer and senior first baseman Brennen Bales were named to the second team, as the Southland Conference Baseball All-Academic Teams, as voted on by the head coaches and sports information directors, were announced by the league office Wednesday.
 
Burch posted a 3.53 GPA as a business administration major. The Houston native made 14 starts, going 1-5 with a 5.30 ERA, 65 strikeouts and 33 walks in 71.1 innings. He ranked seventh in the league in strikekouts and the Huskies went 7-7 in his starts.
 
Reitmeyer recorded a 3.53 GPA as an interdisciplinary studies major. The Carlsbad, California, native tied for the team lead with 24 appearances, going 3-3 with a 3.32 ERA, eight saves, 27 strikeouts and 15 walks in 21.2 innings. Reitmeyer ranked third in the league in saves, tied for the second-most in a single season in HBU history. He posted 13 saves for his career, which ranks fourth in the Huskies' all-time record book. During conference play, he went 2-1 with a 2.31 ERA, four saves, struck out 16 and walked nine in 11.2 innings.
 
Bales had a 3.40 GPA as a kinesiology sport management major. The Nebraska City, Nebraska, native led the Huskies with a .333 batting average, 11 doubles and 28 RBIs, while also recording four home runs, a triple and 24 runs. He ranked second in the league with a .387 batting average in conference play with six doubles, a home run, 13 RBIs and 16 runs. In two games at the Southland Conference Tournament, he went 6-for-9 with three home runs.
