HBU Huskies (9-8,5-5 SLC) vs. A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders (5-11,3-5 SLC)

CORPUS CHRISTI – The HBU women's basketball team head into a quick turnaround in their final week of regular season play. The Huskies will head south to face off against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Monday, March 1 with a 7 p.m. tip-off. 

HBU (9-8,5-5 SLC) won two of their last three games after a three-game postponement including a sweep of Nicholls and a rematch win to McNeese. Timia Jefferson averaged 15.7 points last week totaling 14 steals with a 19 points game against McNeese. Kennedy Wilson averaged 12 points and added eight assists to her season leading stat. N'Denasija Collins posted a 17-point game against McNeese, her high scoring game of the season, averaging 6.3 rebounds with two blocks and four steals. Patience Idoko had her career high game in a Nicholls win with 17 averaging 4.3 rebounds on the week. Marilyn Nzoiwu posted a season high 13 rebounds in the rematch against McNeese and continues to lead the conference with 30 blocks.  

A&M Corpus Christi (5-11,3-5 SLC) struggled to see a season much like HBU after have eight straight games postponed returning on Feb. 24 with a 66-53 win against New Orleans and a 60-58 overtime win against Incarnate word. The Islanders were led last week by Makinna Serrata averaging 13.5 points and 6.5 blocks. Leading scorer on the season Alecia Westbrook posted 12 rebounds against UNO and 13 rebounds against Incarnate word while averaging 12.5 points.  

The Huskies will see the Islanders again in their final game of the regular season in Sharp Gym on Saturday, March 6 after a trip to San Antonio on Wednesday, March 3 against Incarnate Word.
