THIBODAUX, LA – The Huskies head to another road match on Wednesday to face Nicholls in Thibodaux on Wednesday with a 5 p.m. tip off. HBU comes into the match after a road loss Monday to McNeese while Nicholls is coming in from a win against Northwestern State.
HBU is led by Timia Jefferson with 15.6 points per game and 37 steals and is second on the team with 32 assists. She is currently ranked fifth in the conference for scoring and steals. Kennedy Wilson averages 10.8 points per game and is third in conference for assists on the season with 58. N'Denasija Collins contributes 10.3 points and leads with 8.0 rebounds per game and ranks fifth in conference for rebounds. Julija Vujakovic adds 8.5 points per game with 26 assists on the season. Marilyn Nzoiwu currently leads the conference with 34 blocks averaging 2.3 a game. She also ranks eighth in the conference for rebounding averaging 6.9 in conference play.
Nicholls is led by the second-best scorer in conference, Chelsea Cain averaging 17.3 points and third in conference averaging 8.3 rebounds. Anna McKendree adds 10.7 points per game and 4.2 rebounds while ranking second in SLC with 51 steals. McKendree also leads the team with 61 assists on the season.
The Huskies will return home on Saturday, Feb. 27 at noon for another matchup against McNeese in Sharp Gym and will have just three game left of regular conference season play going into next week.
