LAKE CHARLES, LA – The HBU women's basketball team hits the road for a Monday matchup against the McNeese Cowgirls after a nine-day hiatus due to Winter Storm Uri that hit Texas and parts of surrounding states. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 on Feb. 22 in the Burton Coliseum.  

HBU (7-7,3-4 SLC) last saw action in a tough 54-83 loss to Lamar. Timia Jefferson continues to lead the team in scoring averaging 16.3 point per game in SLC play, ranking fifth in the conference, while also leading with 25 steals on the season and second on the team with 29 assists. Kennedy Wilson averages 10.9 points in SLC play and leads the team in assists on the season with 49. N'Denasija Collins follows close behind averaging 10 points per game in SLC play, is second on the team for rebounds for the season with 6.9 and is fifth in the conference for rebounding with 7.9 in SLC play. Julija Vujakovic rounds out the top in scoring for the Huskies averaging 9.4 points in SLC play while also adding 26 assists on the season. Marilyn Nzoiwu currently leads the conference in blocks averaging 2.7 in SLC play with 27 blocks for her season total. She leads the team in rebounding for the season averaging 7.2 per game.  

McNeese (5-10,5-3 SLC) last saw action on Saturday, Feb. 20 in a 64-53 loss to New Orleans. The Cowgirls are led by Divine Tanks averaging 14.5 points and 9.3 rebounds in SLC play. Kayla Hamilton adds 12.1 points per game, leading with 23 assists and adds 5.4 rebounds per game. Le'Shenae Stubblefield contributes 10.8 points per game and 16 assists in SLC play.  

The Huskies average 38 percent from the field, 69.4 percent from the line and 37 rebounds per game. The Cowgirls average 36.8 percent from the field, 71.3 percent from the line and 38.1 rebounds per game. 

The Huskies will head to Thibodaux, Louisiana when the see action next on Wednesday, Feb.24 with a 5 p.m. tip-off against the Nicholls Colonels.
