Senior
Jalon Gates heads into his final collegiate game third on the HBU (4-24, 4-15 SLC) all-time made three-pointers list and fourth on the single-season list. His 84 made threes this season stand seven behind the 91 made by Bobby Sanders during the 1994-95 season for the most ever in a season by a Husky. For his career, Gates has made 233 from behind the arc, six behind Sanders for second on the all-time list. The senior has made six in a game once this season, at Oral Roberts, and knocked down seven at New Mexico.
Junior
Ian DuBose, who leads the Southland Conference in scoring, can be found among the league's top-ten in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and field goal percentage. Additionally, the junior has been flying up the program's all-time lists this season and enters the season finale just five points away from moving up to eighth on the program's all-time scoring list, currently at 1,429 career points. His 133 career steals have him just one away from entering the program's top-ten while he entered the top-15 all-time in assists in the Huskies' win at UIW this past Wednesday.
The last time the Huskies and Islanders (13-17, 9-10 SLC) met, HBU came away with an 82-77 win inside Sharp Gym. Tomorrow, HBU has a chance to knock Islanders out of the SLC tournament as TAMUCC is one of five teams vying for four spots in the field. The Islanders are one of three teams at 10 losses still alive for a tournament bid.
TAMUCC has won its last three games, including this past Wednesday when the Islanders defeated Sam Houston State 74-60 at home. Junior Myles Smith leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.6 points per game while freshman Jordan Hairston is adding 12.4 per outing. Leading rebounder Jashawn Talton-Thomas is pulling down 5.8 boards per game but has missed the Islanders' last three. When the two teams met earlier this season, Hairston led all players with 22 points while Gates had 21 for the Huskies.
