HAMMOND, La. – After last Saturday's win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi the HBU men's basketball team takes aim at the Southeastern Louisiana Lions on Wednesday when they visit the University Center at 7:00 p.m. As always when the Huskies are on the road, fans can listen to every second of the game on the Husky Sports Network with Lonnie King providing play-by-play via HBUHuskies.com.

HBU (2-17, 2-8 SLC) led wire-to-wire in the Huskies' 82-77 win over the Islanders this past Saturday. In that matchup, six different players scored in double-figures and the Huskies held a 40-30 advantage on the boards. Senior Jalon Gates led the team with 21 points while Ian DuBose posted a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds. Benjamin Uloko grabbed seven rebounds and added 10 points off the bench.

As a team, the Huskies have picked it up on the glass and out-rebounded opponents in six of the last seven games. Prior to that, HBU had been beaten on the boards in nine of the season's first 12 games. The Huskies are currently 25th nationally in offensive rebounding, pulling down 12.85 offensive rebounds per game.

The Lions (6-16, 3-8 SLC) are led by sophomore Tyron Brewer whose 15.7 ppg leads the team and ranks eighth in the conference. He's also the team leader on the boards and ranks sixth among league players with 7.9 rpg. Senior Von Julien, meanwhile, leads the SLC in assists, dishing out 4.9 assists per game.

In its last game, Southeastern La. dropped an 84-73 home decision to New Orleans. In that game, Brewer scored a team-best 24 points off the bench while the team shot 41 percent from the floor and just 28.6 percent from three. For the season, SLU is being out-rebounded by 6.6 per game.

HBU will return to Sharp Gym this Saturday, Feb. 8, to host Northwestern State for the program's annual throwback game wearing the iconic mid-1970's uniforms with the blue and orange striped shorts with the "Hustlin' Husky" on the jersey. Tip-off will be at 7:00 p.m.
