HOUSTON, TEXAS – The HBU Huskies (6-20, 3-15 SLC) beat the McNeese Cowgirls (5-22, 2-16 SLC) 56-54 in Southland Conference basketball Saturday afternoon.
The Huskies senior
Lauren Calver was the only Husky to score in double digits as she scored a career-high 20 points while gathering four rebounds, a season-high six assists, and two steals. Sophomore
Marilyn Nzoiwu contributed 10 of the Huskies 41 rebounds on the afternoon while also scoring two points and three blocks. Freshman center
Abbey Sutherland scored four points while gathering five rebounds alongside freshmen forward

Kennedy Wilson scored eight points, which the last two scored were at the buzzer to help brought an uproar in Sharp Gym. Wilson collected three rebounds, earned two assists, and stole the ball twice as the Huskies win in grand fashion.
The Cowgirls we led by Damilola Balogun who scored a game high 25 points and collected a game high 15 rebounds notching her 12
th double-double of the season as the Cowgirls have lost nine of their last 10 matchups in the southland. Bre'Ashlee Jones scored 12 points with four rebounds, recording one block and two steals.
The Huskies return home for one last time this season Wednesday night as we celebrate our beloved Seniors as they finish out their last home matchup in Sharp Gym at 7 p.m. against the Incarnate Word Cardinals.
