HOUSTON – The Huskies face Arlington Baptist in the first home game of the season at NOON on Saturday, Dec. 5 to start a three-game home stretch.
HBU (0-2) is led by sophomore guard Timia Jefferson with 11 points, three steals, and three rebounds per game. Sophomores N'Denasija Collins and Abbey Sutherland both have 8.5 points per game while junior Julija Vujakovic stands just behind with eight points. Junior center Marilyn Nzoiwu is HBU's leading rebounder with eight per game with Collins being second with seven.
Arlington Baptist (4-1) comes into the matchup with back-to-back wins and a game against Mary Hardin Baylor to be played December 4. The Patriots are led by Aaliyah Clark with 17.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 4.6 steals per game. Heaven Muenster tails close behind with 17.2 points and 6.8 rebounds while Rebecca Farmer holds 13.2 points and 3 rebounds per game. Peniah Waites leads the team in rebounds with 8.4 and adds 10.4 points per game.
The Huskies will face McMurry December 12 and LeTourneau December 14 in Sharp Gym will a final preseason trip to Phoenix against Grand Canyon December 19 before Southland Conference play.
