TEMPE, Ariz. – The HBU men's basketball team heads to the Grand Canyon State this weekend for a matchup with the 18th-ranked Arizona State Sun Devils on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. CST inside Desert Financial Arena. Sunday's contest will air live on the Pac-12 Network in addition to the Husky Sports Network audio broadcast with Lonnie King available at HBUHuskies.com.
 
HBU (0-1) dropped its season-opener on Wednesday in Fort Worth against TCU, 69-45. Junior Pedro Castro set new career-highs in both scoring and rebounding with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. Fellow junior Hunter Janacek added 10 points and six rebounds for the Huskies while sophomore Zach Iyeyemi scored a career-best eight points.
 
Senior Ty Dalton added six points for the Huskies while making the start, adding a pair of steals and assists. Myles Pierre finished the night with four points, four rebounds and three assists. HBU struggled from the floor in the first half but bounced back to shoot 44.8 percent from the floor in the second half and finished the game shooting 32.1 percent.
 
The Sun Devils (1-1) feature four players averaging double-figures in scoring with freshman guard Josh Christopher leading the way at 19.5 points per game. Guards Remy Martin and Alonzo Verge Jr. are adding 15.5 ppg and 15 ppg, respectively, while freshman forward Marcus Bagley is adding 13 ppg. ASU is shooting 43.8 percent as a team and have been out-rebounded by 6.5 rebounds per game after their first two contests.
 
The Huskies are 0-3 all-time against the Sun Devils with the last meeting coming during the 2015-16 season with HBU falling 98-79 on Dec. 19.
 
HBU will have one more game on the road on Wednesday, Dec. 2, against SMU in Dallas before the program's home-opener against crosstown rival Rice on Saturday, Dec. 5.
