HOUSTON – The HBU men's basketball team will continue its stretch of three-straight home games inside Sharp Gym this Wednesday when the Huskies host the New Orleans Privateers at 7:00 p.m. Husky fans can watch or listen to every second of the action on the Husky Sports Network with Lonnie King calling the action via HBUHuskies.com.

The Huskies (1-12, 1-3 SLC) own a 1-2 record on their home floor after dropping a 102-92 decision this past Saturday to Lamar. Junior Ian DuBose continued a torrid stretch that has seen him average 24.5 points over the last six games and 29.3 over the last three. He continues to lead the league in scoring at 19.5 ppg which places him 37th nationally. DuBose ranks in the top 10 in the conference in scoring (1st), field goal percentage (9th), assists per game (9th), assist/turnover ratio (10th) and steals (10th). Only one other player, McNeese's A.J. Lawson, ranks in the top 10 in three of those five categories this season.

As a team, HBU had its best rebounding game of the season against the Cardinals with an 11-rebound advantage, hauling in 36 to LU's 25. HBU got a career-high from sophomore forward Benjamin Uloko who was 7-of-9 from the floor and scored 17 points while also pulling down eight boards. Freshman Jason Thompson made his debut for the Huskies and finished with nine points and six rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench.

The Privateers (5-11, 1-5 SLC) are 0-8 away from Lakefront Arena, most recently dropping a 73-70 decision at UIW. Senior Bryson Robinson leads UNO and ranks third in the conference with 17 ppg with that average rising to 19.7 ppg in SLC play. Robinson is fourth in the league, connecting on nearly three three-pointers per game and his 36.3 percent shooting from deep ranks third.

Last year's SLC Freshman of the Year, Gerrale Gates, leads UNO on the boards with 6.2 rpg while also adding 9.2 ppg. As a team, the Privateers are shooting 34 percent from three but attempt the fewest three-pointers per game in the conference with an average of 15.8 attempts per game.

New Orleans has won the last three meetings but the two squads are an even 4-4 versus each other since HBU joined the conference in 2013. Last season, the Huskies fell 81-76 on the road in overtime with DuBose leading all scorers with 22 points.

HBU wraps up its three-game home stretch on Saturday against the Sam Houston State Bearkats at 7:00 p.m.
