CORPUS CHRISTI- HBU Softball took the Southland Conference opening series with their 4-2 win today. After dropping game one of the series the Huskies rallied in the nightcap yesterday to win 3-0 and came out today to win the series. 

HBU (11-7, 2-1) made the most of their hits scoring four runs on five hits. HBU was led by freshman Autumn Sydlik's three-run homerun in the second inning that proved to be all the Huskies needed for the win, but HBU would add to their lead in the sixth when senior Demi Janak doubled down the right field line to score Brooke Bushman. 

Elliot Estes (4-1) spun a complete game giving up two runs, one earned on five hits with three strikeouts. 

Texas A&M-CC (4-20, 1-2) had five hits as a team with four of them coming from Ashley Moss and Skye Koehl. They also had both of the Islander's RBI's. 

Kandace Johnson (3-5) went the distance for the Islanders giving up four runs on five hits with three strikeouts.
