HOUSTON, TX- HBU Softball made it four straight wins with a 7-0 victory over visiting UTSA. With the win the Huskies have already tied their season win total from last year.
HBU (9-6) scored seven runs on 10 total hits on the day including junior
Amber Lotz's 2-3 day at the plate that saw her drive in two runs and score one of her own.
Riley Bullen who got the start in centerfield for HBU added a 2-4 performance at the plate with one run scored. Senior shortstop
Demi Janak reached base safely all four trips going 1-1, drawing a walk, a HBP, and scoring three times.
Emma Guindon (3-0) threw a shutout giving up three hits and three walks, striking out 8 on the day.
UTSA (9-11) was only able to get six runners on base all day with Celeste Loughman going 1-3 followed by Bailee Baldwin going 1-3 as well.
Marena Estell (1-3) drew the loss in the circle going 3 innings giving up four runs, two earned on six hits and two walks with one strikeout. Clarrisa Hernandez came in to throw the final three frames giving up three runs on four hits and three strikeouts.
HBU next travels to Corpus Christi to take on the Islanders in their Southland Conference Opener this weekend starting with a double-header this friday March 8 at 1:00 P.M. and finishing the series Saturday at noon.
