NACOGDOCHES, TX- HBU women's basketball fell to Stephen F. Austin on the road Wednesday night. A third quarter push by the Lady Jacks was enough to take home the victory against the Huskies.
HBU (7-13, 2-8 SLC) had another diverse attack with nine players scoring a basketball. This attack was led by
Sophie Taylor who had 15 points on 6-14 shooting.
Megan Valdez-Crader added 10 points and four rebounds off the bench, and
Natalia Gwarda had eight points and six rebounds.
SFA (18-3, 9-0 SLC) was led by the scoring of Imani Johnson who put up 19 points and five rebounds on the night. That opened up room for Chanell Hayes, Stephanie Visscher, and BriAnna Mitchell to add seven points each. Aiyana Johnson paced the Lady Jacks on the glass with six and added five points of her own.
HBU will be on a bye this weekend before returning home to Sharp Gym against Central Arkansas Feb. 13 and Nicholls Feb. 16. The Huskies will then go on the road against Northwestern State and Sam Houston.
