HOUSTON, TX- HBU falls to Central Arkansas in a Southland Conference midweek matchup at home by a score of 77-58.
HBU (7-14, 2-9 SLC) was led by
Megan Valdez-Crader who put up 15 points six rebounds and three assists. Freshman
Marilyn Nzoiwu put up eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds coming off the bench.
Sophie Taylor added eight points and six assists.
Amanda Johnson inched closer to 1,000 career points with 11 points on 5-7 shooting.
Central Arkansas (10-12, 5-7 SLC) was led by Kamry Orr who had a double-double while leading all scorers with 18 points she added 11 assists and eight rebounds. Alana Canady added 16 points on 50 percent shooting from the field. Alanie Fisher scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds to add to the Sugar Bears attack.
Central Arkansas outside shooting and free-throw efficiency really propelled them to victory shooting 5-11 from behind the arc and 16-22 from the charity stripe.
HBU returns to action this Saturday Feb. 16 in a rematch against Nicholls at 2p.m. The Lady Colonels took the first matchup in Thibodaux 54-77. The Huskies will then hit the road to face off against Northwestern State Feb. 21 and Sam Houston Feb. 23
