HOUSTON, TX- HBU Women's basketball falls just short against Nicholls after having a late lead. The Huskies fell by the score of 58-55 after Tykeria Williams sank two free-throws to put the Lady Colonels up by three in the final seconds of the game.
HBU (7-15, 2-10 SLC) was led by the sharpshooting of senior
Amanda Johnson. Johnson scored 26 points on the day including 6-8 from three-point range and 10-15 from the field.
Sophie Taylor added six points, five rebounds, and nine assists.
Megan Valdez-Crader scored eight points with three rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Nicholls (14-10, 8-4 SLC) was led by the play of Cassidy Barrios who scored 20 points with eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and five steals. Tykeria Williams added 15 points on 40 percent shooting from the field.
HBU will next head to Nachitoches, La. to face off against Norwestern State Feb. 21 at 6:30p.m.
