HOUSTON, TX- HBU women's basketball took the loss against the Lamar Cardinals inside Sharp Gym by a score of 49-97. Senior
Amanda Johnson passed the 1,000 points mark in her HBU career late in the 4th quarter knocking down a three-point shot from the top of the key.
HBU (7-18, 2-13) were led by
Lauren Calver who got the start tonight scoring 15 points adding five rebounds and three assists.
Amanda Johnson scored 14 points on 60 percent shooting while
Taylor Kollmorgen led the Huskies in rebounds with eight.
Megan Valdez-Crader added eight points, six assists, and three steals.
Lamar (22-5, 15-1) Were led by Chastadie Barrs and Moe Kinard. Barrs had a recorded setting night as her 10 steals pushed her into the NCAA Division I lead in career steals. Barrs also managed to score 15 points, dish out nine assists, and grab seven rebounds. Kinard led all scorers with 31 points and grabbed a game high eight rebounds.
HBU will return to action this Saturday March 2 at 2:00p.m. against McNeese on Senior Night where the Huskies will be celebrating their graduating seniors on their careers.
