NEW ORLEANS - Coming down to a tight contest at the No. 1 spot, 18th-ranked Tulane was able to hold off HBU for a 3-2 victory in the Huskies' season opener Tuesday at White Sands Volleyball Courts.

Natalie Bennett, dropped a 21-14, 21-14 decision to Tarin Mergener and Addison Hermstad. The Huskies knotted it back up as the No. 2 pair of senior

Kylie Bryan rallied past Rio Frohoff and Lauren Orlich, 13-21, 21-17, 15-11. In the final match, the Huskies top tandem of senior

Tori Hinojosa were edged by Kaylie McHugh and Eva Torruella, 21-19, 21-19.
HBU returns to action at the Texas A&M-Kingsville Tournament Friday and Saturday in Kingsville.
