MIDLAND, Texas – After opening the season with a pair of games in Oklahoma the HBU men's basketball team sets its sights on the 11th-ranked Red Raiders in a neutral site matchup on Wednesday at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center on the campus of Midland College. HBU fans can catch all the action on the Husky Sports Network audio broadcast with Lonnie King available at HBUHuskies.com.
 
HBU (0-2) is being led offensively by senior Jalon Gates who is averaging 20.5 points per game and whose nine made three-pointers rank 14th among NCAA Division I players. With his six made threes at Oral Roberts he moved into a tie for fourth all-time at HBU with 158 in his three-plus seasons.
 
Sophomore Qon Murphy set a new career-best with 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting off the bench at ORU, including 2-of-2 from behind the arc, while also adding five rebounds and three assists.
 
Texas Tech (2-0) owns wins over Eastern Illinois and Bethune Cookman and is led by graduate transfer senior TJ Holyfield who is averaging 17.5 ppg and six rebounds per game. Jahmi'us Ramsey is adding 16 ppg while Davide Moretti is contributing 13 ppg. The Red Raiders are averaging 82 points per game.
 
The Huskies last played the Red Raiders in a season-opening matchup for the 2016-17 season with TTU winning 93-67 in Lubbock on Nov. 11, 2016.
 
HBU will have more than a week to prepare for its next game, a Friday, Nov. 22, contest in Ann Arbor, Mich. against the Michigan Wolverines.
