MEMPHIS, Tenn. – HBU's cross country team opened the 2018 season by running at the BROOKS Memphis Twilight Cross Country Classic on Saturday night.
Stephen Aguilar was the top-finisher for the Huskies in the men's 4-mile race, posting a time of 21:43.83 with fellow sophomore
Enoch Ramirez the second Husky to cross, finishing in 22:09.44.Freshman
Josh Moran was next with a time of 22:26.85 followed by junior
Christos Zachariou in 22:46.45.
Cody Hammonds was the Huskies' fifth finisher. As a team, the HBU men placed 12
th out of 19 teams.
In the women's 5k, newcomer
Johanna Drews paced the Huskies with a time of 20:17.43 with fellow freshman
Jessica Rabius posting a time of 20:35.54 not far behind her.
Chandler Krueger was next for HBU, crossing the line in 20:54.21 while
Naomi Simei came in with a time of 21:04.25.
Miracle Crayton and
Sarah Rivenbark rounded out the Huskies' runner at the event. The Huskies placed 14
th out of 21 competing women's teams.
HBU will be back in action in less than a week, returning to Houston to take part in the Rice Invitational on Friday, Sep. 7.
