HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Huskies stranded seven runners in 4-1 loss against Sam Houston State concluding their season Sunday afternoon at Bearkat Softball Complex.
Sophomore right fielder
Amber Lotz went out with a bang, as she knocked her first career home run for the Huskies (9-34, 6-21 SLC). She went 2-for-4 at the plate, while sophomore catcher

Brooke Bushman each recorded a single.

Jessica Patak (6-19), who was in relief, earned the loss allowing three runs on six hits, three errors, one walk and a strikeout in 4.1 innings. Starting pitcher senior
Stephanie Buenrostro allowed one run on two hits, an error, a walk and a strikeout in a third of an inning.
Center fielder Megan McDonald went 3-for-3 at the plate for the Bearkats (22-31, 13-14 SLC). Shortstop Tiffany Thompson walked and hit a two-run home run. Right fielder Sheridan Fisher singled and crossed the plate twice.
Kaitlynn Dawson (2-4) earned the win holding the Huskies to one run on five hits, an error, two walks and two strikeouts.
Fisher started off the first inning with a single to right field. Buenrostro then sent Thompson walking, before McDonald hit a one-out single to center. With bases loaded, first baseman Codi Carpenter pushed a runner across with a hit by pitch. Patak entered the game for Buenrostro and forced a double play the next play, 1-0.
The Huskies tied it up in third with a Lotz home run over the left center fence, 1-1. SHSU sealed the 4-1 victory in the fifth with three runs on five hits.
