CONWAY, Arkansas – HBU women's basketball fell on the road against Central Arkansas in Southland Conference women's basketball Wednesday night at Farris Center.

Amanda Johnson come up big for the Huskies (6-15, 2-9 SLC), , combining for 57.1 percent of the scoring. Carr shot 50 percent from the field, leading with 17 points, six boards and two assists. Johnson scored for the 11
th double-digit game in a row, shooting 54.5 percent from the field and 2-of-3 from the 3-point range with 15 points and three assists. Sophomore forward
Lauren Calver and junior center each posted six points. Kirienko also led the Huskies with 11 rebounds.
HBU shot 40.7 percent from the floor, 2-of-8 from the 3-point line and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line. The Huskies outrebounded UCA 34-26 and led in scoring off second chances 13-5.
UCA (16-7, 9-3 SLC) had two players in double-digits, including a 20-point performance by Kierra Jordan. She shot 72.2 percent from the floor, putting up 27 points and brought down five rebounds. Taylor Baudoin contributed with 15 points, three boards, two assists and two blocks. Antonija Bozic scored six points, while Mekaylan Hicks, Kamry Orr and Taylor Sells each contributed four points.
The Sugar Bears shot 49.1 percent, went 3-of-7 from behind the arc and 9-of-12 from behind the line. UCA outscored HBU in the paint 40-32.
The Huskies jumped to a 4-0 start early in the first quarter, thanks to a jumper by Johnson and a couple free-throws by Carr. A 3-pointr by the Sugar Bears started a 7-1 run to give them the two-point advantage. Junior center Natlia Gwarda tied it up with a layup, followed by a 3-point play by Carr. UCA got within one point, but Johnson extended their advantage with a jumper, but the Sugar Bears went on to score the next four points, making it a one-point game at the start of the second quarter.
Calver contributed with a layup that broke up an early four-point run by UCA. Carr was sent to the line to score the next two points, but the Sugar Bears answered back with a shot from the 3-point range. The Huskies with a layup by Calver, but UCA was able to score the last 10 of 12 points to lead at the half, 20-29.

Kennedy Collins combined for the first four points to start the third. UCA matched HBU's efforts, which was the case for the next 20 points, until Johnson drained a 3-pointer to start a six-point run for the Huskies, decreasing the Sugar Bears advantage by only three to start the fourth.
UCA led for as many as eight points with 8:42 left to go, but Carr, Calver, sophomore guard
Britta Daub and Kireinko comibined their efforts to trim the lead to only two points. After a jumper by Kirienko, the Sugar Bears went on a six-point spree to extend their lead to nine points. Johnson scored the next five out of nine points, including another 3-pointer, but it wasn't enough as the Sugar Bears took it, 64-56.
