DENTON, Texas- HBU women's basketball falls to North Texas Wednesday by a score of 100-75.

Junior Lauren Calver returns from injury to score 17 points and grab four rebounds. In Calver's first action of the season she shot 53 percent from the field doing most of her work in the paint. Sophomore Megan Valdez-Crader added 12 points and three rebounds. Valdez-Crader reached the charity stripe eight times making six of those.

The Mean Green of North Texas had six players scoring double digit points lead by Anisha George with 15 points. Madi Townley recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Huskies held up to the offense of North Texas through the first quarter only trailing by 5. HBU's offense stalled at the end of the first half seeing UNT stretch its lead to 10 at the half after a late missed basket by the Huskies would have kept the lead under 10 points. In the second half the Huskies continued to score points, but could not stop the Mean Green in the paint giving up a total of 56 points in the paint.

As a team, the Huskies shot 44.3 percent (27-61) from the field and 26.7 percent (4-15) from three-point range. North Texas shot 52 percent (39-75) from the field and 30 percent (6-20) from three-point range. UNT outrebounded HBU 48-26, with 17 of those coming on the offensive glass leading to 21 second chance points for the Mean Green.
