WICHITA, Kansas- HBU women's basketball (2-1) fell to the Shockers of Wichita State (4-0) Saturday afternoon by a score of 68-50.
Amanda Johnson was the game's leading scorer with 16 points shooting 50% from the three-point line. Sophie Taylor added 13 points behind seven of eight shooting at the free throw line.
Trajata Colbert paced the Shockers with 12 points and 13 rebounds coming off the bench. Seraphine Bastin added 11 points and Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage added eight points and eight rebounds.
HBU shot 27.6%, while Wichita State shot 37.9%. The Shockers out-rebounded the Huskies 56-33, and out-shot the Huskies in the paint 32-16.
HBU got off to a slow start falling behind the Shockers 7-0, The Huskies finished the quarter on a 11-7 to bring the score to 14-11. The second quarter is where the Shockers pulled away outscoring the Huskies 19-5. HBU played strong in the second half only being outscored by one.
The Huskies return to the court Nov. 21 Wednesday against Howard Payne in Sharp Gym at 7p.m. HBU will then travel on the road to Lubbock Texas to take on the Red Raiders of Texas Tech Nov. 24 at 2p.m.
