COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The HBU men's and women's cross country teams ran their final race ahead of the Southland Conference Championships on Saturday morning, taking part in the Texas A&M Arturo Barrios Invitational.
For the men, running their first 8k race of the season, sophomore
Stephen Aguilar set a new PR with a team-leading time of 26:44.5. Fellow sophomore
Enoch Ramirez came in five spots back from Aguilar with a time of 26:49.5 while freshman
Josh Moran posted a time of 27:32.6.
Travis Jacobs crossed the finish line in 28:15.0 with
Christos Zachariou rounding out the Huskies five-person team lineup.
In the women's 6k, freshman
Jessica Rabius was the Huskies' top finisher for the first time this year with a mark of 24:23.8. Next to cross was
Johanna Drews, who finished in 25:25.6 with
Naomi Simei right behind her with a time of 25:26.7. The fourth HBU runner in the race,
Chandler Krueger, came in with a time of 25:35.7. The 6k race was the longest race the Huskies have run this season.
The Huskies will be off next weekend before traveling to Lake Charles, La. on Friday, Oct. 26, for the Southland Conference Championships hosted by McNeese.
