NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Ellee Hall scored her fourth goal of the season and Alanis Guevara made nine saves as HBU's women's soccer team earned its first Southland Conference win of the 2017 season Friday evening at the SFA Soccer Field.

Stephen F. Austin (4-5-0) held an advantage in shots in both halves, including five shots on goal in the first half to zero by HBU (2-4-1). Guevara kept the Ladyjacks off the board with five saves in the first half before stopping three more in the first 18 minutes of the second period.

Gabby Rodriguez saw the first look of the second half for the Huskies but missed wide before Hall lined up for a penalty kick in the 68th minute. The senior converted the chance for the 19th goal of her career, tying her for fifth-most in program history. Both teams would manage one more shot on goal in the match but the scoring was done with the Huskies pulling out the win in the rematch from the 2016 Southland Conference tournament championship match.

Guevara has now made at least nine saves on three occasions this season, stopping nine and moving to 1-4-1 for the year. She's currently second in the Southland Conference with 7.83 saves per match. Hall's four goals are good tied for third with two players ahead of her with five goals.

"It was great to earn the win on the road against a solid SFA team," said head coach Misty Jones. "I am proud of the girls for playing a complete 90 minutes. It was definitely a team effort."

HBU remains on the road for its next match, a 1:00 p.m. kick-off at Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas on Sunday, Sep. 24.
