Junior LF Spencer Halloran goes 2-for-4 with a home run, double, 2 RBIs, 2 runs.



HOUSTON – HBU's offense showed more life, but couldn't match UTSA, as the Roadrunners claimed an 18-6 victory over the Huskies in non-conference baseball Tuesday at Husky Field.
 
Junior leftfielder Spencer Halloran went 2-for-4 with a home run, his team-leading third of the season, a double, two RBIs and two runs for the Huskies (8-11). Junior designated hitter Matt Heck went 2-for-5 with a double, and junior shortstop Tyler Depreta-Johnson went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Senior centerfielder Zane Otten tripled and scored, extending his hitting streak to seven games.
 
Bryan Arias went 4-for-6 with a home run, his fourth, a double, three RBIs and scored four times for UTSA (10-9). Chris Estrada was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and scored twice, while CJ Pickering went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and a pair of runs. Jesse Baker drove in two and Tony Beam scored three times.
 
Pickering (1-0) earned the win for the Roadrunners, allowing two runs on five hits with six strikeouts and a walk in 4.0 innings of relief. UTSA starter Karan Patel gave up four runs on five hits with a strikeout and a walk in 2.0 innings.
 
Senior righthander JT Jakubik (0-2) took the loss for HBU, allowing four runs on four hits with two strikeouts and three walks in 2.0 innings as the Huskies used eight pitchers on the afternoon.
 
The Huskies will be at home this weekend for a three-game Southland Conference series against Southeastern Louisiana. Friday's opener begins at 2 p.m., followed by a 1 p.m. first pitch Saturday, then a 2 p.m. start in the finale Sunday.
