Previous School: Played one season at Golden West College for coach Bert Villareal, after playing one season at Long Beach State…as a sophomore, hit .373 with 15 doubles, 40 RBIs and 33 runs…posted a .477 on-base percentage and .458 slugging percentage…on the mound, went 5-6 with a 4.32 ERA, 63 strikeouts and 23 walks in 83.1 innings…named captain as a redshirt, then offensive player of the year and team captain as a sophomore…as a freshman at LBSU, made seven appearances on the mound, including three starts…went 1-3 with a 5.19 ERA, eight strikeouts and eight walks in 26.0 innings…went 4.1 innings, allowing only three hits and striking out three in his first relief appearance against Vanderbilt (2/15)…took a no-decision in his first career start against USC (2/25), allowing one run on five hits in 7.0 innings…held Arizona (3/5) to two runs on four hits in six innings to earn his first career victory.
 
High School: Was a three-year letterwinner at Los Alamitos High School for coach Matt Nuez…hit .350 as a senior, earning second-team all-league honors and helping the Griffins to the Sunset League championship and an appearance in the CIF semifinals…was also a three-year letterwinner in football and was a first-team all-league selection at quarterback…made the Honor Roll as a freshman.
 
Personal: Full name is Cody Robert Marshall…born April 15, 1995, in Long Beach, California…son of John and the late Chrissy Strong-Marshall…both sets of grandparents, Bob and Bonnie Strong, and Judy and Terry Marshall, all attended HBU…father played baseball at San Diego State after winning a Junior College Championship…majoring in mass media marketing.
