NATCHITOCHES, Louisiana - HBU plays back-to-back road games this week, starting with the longest trip first, when the Huskies face Northwestern State in Southland Conference women's basketball Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Prather Coliseum. Sophomore guard
Lisa Zderadicka leads the Huskies (5-15, 3-7 SLC) with 10.1 points and 2.9 assists, while also pulling down 3.9 rebounds per contest. She scored all 23 of her points in the second half in Saturday's 56-51 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, marking her third 20-plus point performance of the season. Senior guard
Heidi Byrd is shooting 40.9 percent from 3-point range and averages 8.4 points per game. Freshman forward
Taylor Kollmorgen is HBU's leading rebounder with 6.8 per game to go along with 6.7 points per contest.
Beatrice Attura ranks second in the conference with 19.0 points per game and also ranks second in the league with 5.1 assists per game for the Lady Demons (10-11, 4-6). Cheyenne Brown adds 12.0 point per game and leads NSU at 6.8 rebounds per game. Shahd Abboud chips in with 9.7 points per game and is the Lady Demons' leading 3-point shooter at 33.8 percent.
NSU leads the all-time series against HBU, 3-1, after winning the last three meetings. In the lone meeting last sesaon, the Lady Demons claimed the conference opener, 55-44, on Jan. 2, 2016, in Natchitoches.
The Huskies return to action when they travel to take on Sam Houston State Saturday at 4 p.m. in Huntsville, Texas, before returning home to host Lamar Feb. 15 in Sharp Gym.
