HOUSTON - HBU returns for the lone home game between sets of back-to-back road games when the Huskies face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Sharp Gym. The video and Legacy Sports Network broadcast will be available on HBUHuskies.com.
Sophomore guard
Lisa Zderadicka leads the Huskies (4-15, 2-7 SLC) with 9.3 points, 2.9 assists per game and 1.2 steals per game, while also grabbing 4.0 rebounds per contest. Senior guard
Heidi Byrd adds 8.3 points per gmae and is shooting 40.3 percent from 3-point range, while freshman forward
Taylor Kollmorgen averages 7.0 points and a team-leading 6.7 rebounds per game.
The Islanders (8-13, 4-6) are led by Brittany Mbamalu, who averages 9.8 points per game and puts up 7.4 3-pointers per game. Camesha Davis contributes 8.4 points per game and leads TAMU-CC with 6.3 rebounds per game. Emma Young chips in with 7.4 points per game.
TAMU-CC leads the all-time series with HBU, 5-4, but the Huskies have won the last three meetings. HBU swept the two matchups last season, scoring a 55-51 victory in Houston on March 3 and a 73-59 win in Corpus Christi on Feb. 3.
The Huskies will be on the road for both games next week, taking on Northwestern State Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Natchitoches, Louisiana, followed by Sam Houston State Saturday at 2 p.m. in Huntsville.Â
