LAKE CHARLES, La. – HBU aims to push its winning streak to six games on Thursday evening at Burton Coliseum where the Huskies will take on the McNeese Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast via the Legacy Sports Network with Lonnie King providing the play-by-play. Fans can listen live at www.HBUHuskies.com.

HBU (13-12, 8-6 SLC) pushed its season record above .500 for the first time this season with its most recent win, a 92-78 victory over Randall on Saturday, Feb. 18. The Huskies have now won five consecutive games and six of the last seven to move into fifth place in the Southland Conference standings, just a half game behind Sam Houston State.

Reveal Chukwujekwu has been one of the catalysts for the Huskies recent winning ways, posting double-doubles in all but one of the team's six recent victories. The senior has pulled down at least 10 rebounds in all six of those games. Chukwujekwu is third on the team in scoring with 11.8 points per game and leads the Huskies on the boards, pulling down 8.2 rebounds per game. In Southland play, he has grabbed the most rebounds of any player in the conference and his nine-per-game average is second in the league.

As a team, HBU is averaging six more rebounds per game than its opponents. That plus-six rebounding margin is the 29th-best mark in the nation.

The Cowboys (7-18, 4-10 SLC) enter Thursday's game having dropped four in a row and seven of their last eight. Senior Jamaya, a Second Team All-SLC selection last season, leads McNeese with 11.9 points per game and is dishing out 3.8 assists on average. Kalob Ledoux, a freshman, is second on the team with 10.8 points per outing while Stephen Ugochukwu adds 10.7 points and leads the squad with 8.1 boards per game.

The Huskies beat the Cowboys 60-49 in Sharp Gym earlier this season, making it three-straight wins for HBU. In the victory, Josh Ibarra posted a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds while Colter Lasher added 17 and the Huskies out-rebounded the Cowboys 45-37.

HBU closes out the road portion of its 2016-17 schedule on Saturday, Feb. 25 with a visit to Beaumont, Texas to face the Lamar Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. at the Montagne Center. That game will be available live via ESPN3.
