HOUSTON – HBU women's basketball could not come up with an answer for Lamar's Kiandra Bowers as the Cardinals downed the Huskies, 81-53, in Southland Conference women's basketball Wednesday night at Sharp Gym.

Lisa Zderadicka led HBU (5-18, 3-10 SLC) with 13 points and 11 rebounds for her team-leading fourth double-double of the season. Freshman forward
Lauren Calver came off the bench to add 12 points, while freshman guard
Britta Daub scored 11 points in her third career start. Sophomore guard
Amanda Johnson scored nine points, while freshman forward
Taylor Kollmorgen grabbed six boards and posted three of the Huskies' eight blocked shots.
Bowers went 15-for-25 from the field to finish with 32 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks for the Cardinals (18-6, 11-3). Ashlan Miles had 13 points and Kyla Green scored eight points and posted 13 rebounds. Chastadie Barrs dished out seven assists and made eight of Lamar's 17 steals.
Lamar shot 42.5 percent from the field, 7-of-23 from 3-point range, and went 6-for-12 from the free throw line. HBU shot 30.4 percent, 3-for-19 from long distance, and 16-for-22 from the line. The Cardinals made twice as many field goals, 34-17, and outscored the Huskies, 46-24, in the paint. Lamar also led in points off turnovers, 32-10, and second-chance points, 29-8.
The Huskies return to action when they hit the road to face Central Arkansas Saturday at 2 p.m. in Conway.
