SAN ANTONIO – HBU women's basketball concludes their brief, two-game road swing with a Thursday night tilt against Incarnate Word. First tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. from the McDermott Center.

Thursday marks the first of two meetings between the Huskies and Cardinals, as HBU hosts UIW in the regular season finale on March 5. HBU leads the all-time series, 5-0.

In its last game, despite having five players in double figures, HBU (11-12 overall, 6-7 SLC) could not overcome a 64 percent shooting performance by Sam Houston State in a 78-70 Bearkat win Saturday. Anna Strickland posted her 18th double-double of the season with 15 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Monet Neal tied the team high of 15 points, followed by Rachel Arthur (11), Bria Johnson (10), and Heidi Sihvola (10). On the season, Strickland leads the Southland Conference - and is fourth and T-3rd - in rebounding (13.4) and double-doubles, respectively. In the conference, Strickland is T-2nd in blocks (1.7), T-5th in steals (2.1), T-8th in assists (3.0), and T-13th in scoring (13.8). Lisa Zderadicka is T-18th with 2.5 assists per game. As a team, HBU is fifth in scoring offense (65.3) and sixth in scoring defense (64.3).

UIW (6-17, 3-9) has lost three straight and six of its last seven following a 76-56 defeat to visiting Central Arkansas Saturday. The Cardinals' win came at Nicholls, 63-61, on Feb. 3. UIW is led by Aricka Adams with 13.1 points - which is 18th in the SLC - followed by Brianna Williams with 12.2. The Cardinals' top rebounder is Yvonne Maosa, who averages 6.6 boards per contest. Quincy Baker (15) has nearly half of the team's 32 blocked shots. As a team, UIW is last in the SLC in scoring offense (57.5) and fifth in scoring defense (64.1).

After the contest, HBU hosts conference leader Abilene Christian next Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m.
