GULF SHORES, Ala. – The HBU softball team cruised by Florida A&M, 7-1, to close the Sand Dollar Classic at Gulf Shores Sportsplex on Sunday morning.

The Huskies (3-1) taxed FAMU (3-2) for two runs in the first inning, adding one run in the second and four more in the third.

Guidry finished 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored, while Belovsky went 2-for-3 with a double and run scored. Freshman Demi Janak joined Guidry and Belovsky in knocking a two-bagger against Rattler starter Veroni Burse (1-1).

Senior Caitlin Gunn hit the first home run of her career, knocking a three-run jack in the third inning, as part of 1-for-3 showing. The native of Seabrook, Texas, finished with three RBI and one run scored.

Belovski (2-0) notched her second win of the season, scattering six hits and one run across 31 batters faced. She also fanned three and walked two.

After a scoreless frame to open the game, the Huskies' offense started quickly in the bottom of the first. Guidry opened up with a bunt single and stole second, before sophomore Libby Brown drew a walk. The two then both advanced a bag on a double steal, later scoring on an infield fielding error.

After Belovski smoked a one-out double to right field and advanced the third on wild pitch, Janak drove her in with a double of her own. Sophomore Nicole Shedd then walked, setting the stage for Gunn's long ball one batter later.
