Shannon O'Connor (1-0) picked up her first win of the season, logging four scoreless innings in the circle. The Houston native scattered two hits and two walks, striking out one, across 15 batters faced before giving way to Belovski, who went the final three innings to earn the first save of her career. The save is also the first for HBU since the 2014 season.
After four shutdown innings from O'Connor, the Huskies took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth behind Belovski's two-out jack.
Reyes then followed suit with a leadoff home run to open the bottom of the fifth inning, before Samford took advantage of two singles and a hit by pitch to plate their lone run in the sixth.
HBU will play one more game on Saturday, facing Southeast Missouri State at 6 p.m.
