The Huskies (4-7), who are 4-0 at home, are coming off a 98-79 loss at Arizona State on Saturday, Dec. 19. Senior
Anthony Odunsi paced the team with 16 points, shooting 5-for-11 from the field and 6-for-7 from the charity stripe to go along with four assists. Freshman
Asa Cantwell tied two career-highs with 13 points and three hits from 3-point land, while senior
Caleb Crayton and sophomore
Josh Ibarra both poured in 10 points, respectfully.
On the season, Ibarra ranks third in the Southland Conference in field goal percentage (.598) and fourth in blocks (1.4 per game), while Odunsi sits eighth in free throw percentage (.824) and ninth in assists (3.7 per game).
Two players providing early returns in their freshman seasons are
Isaiah Robinson and Cantwell. Both stack up well against other players in the SLC and lead all freshmen in their respective categories, as Robinson ranks second in blocks (1.8 per game) and Cantwell is fifth in 3-point field goal percentage (.415).
HBU and Ecclesia (8-4) will meet for the fifth time in program history when the two teams take the court in the midweek tilt. The Huskies lead the all-time series, 4-0, and defeated the Royals 98-47 last season.
Ecclesia is the third of four non-conference opponents for HBU out of the National Christian College Athletic Association. The Huskies defeated NCCAA members Crowley's Ridge (102-62) and Arlington Baptist (110-53) earlier this season and will later host Hillsdale Baptist on January 25 in the team's non-conference finale.
Following Tuesday's action, HBU will open Southland Conference play in a 3 p.m. tip on Saturday at Northwestern State.
