HEAD COACH VIC SHEALY QUOTES
On Stephen F Austin: "Coming off the open date, I thought we got some kids back more healthy and I thought there were some things we came out in the first half and did well and going in 20-10, obviously being 10 points down is not what you choose to do, but there were some good things that occured, then in the second half we just didn't play really well. SFA is very talented and Coach Conque does a great job, but you've got to get better in order to line up and have a chance to win and we didn't come out and do those things, so the game got away quickly. We just need to come back and work hard to finish well this week."
On Incarnate Word: "This is our third year playing (UIW), we played them in 2013 to just kind of understand who people were. You can see the job that was done with the level of coaching, how hard kids played and one of our early takeaways was just how physically tough they played. Last year you saw the normal progression and growth in that program and this year continuing to see that growth. There are a lot of things to be impressed with, the level of play of their quarterback, the quality of their interior lines on both sides of the ball. There's a tremendous amount of respect as they're trying to grow their program, and they've had some tremendous wins this season."
On finishing strong: "It's no question a win would have a huge impact to carry into the offseason and recruiting. I think there's areas on tape, where certain kids and certain areas of our program where more weeks than not we continue to march forward, make some improvements, show some abilities that give us promise for the future. I think to win your last ballgame, particularly against a team that is playing well and capable of beating anybody in our league almost, would be a tremendous shot of confidence. It is just a great opportunity to advance our program forward."
